Frequently Asked Questions
Drink plenty of water during the week leading up to your ultrasound. If you are 12 weeks or less, we recommend you come with a full bladder. In this case, drink 32 ounces of water 1 hour before your appointment and do not void. It may help for you to have a snack and cold drink prior to your scan. Also, make sure everyone in your party is aware of the date and time of your appointment.
Absolutely! This is a wonderful experience to share with friends, family, and baby’s siblings. Expecting mother and up to 9 guests are allowed to the session! We also offer a live streaming service to anyone of your choosing for a flat fee. Now friends and family can livestream your ultrasound from their mobile phone, tablet, or computer. This is a great asset for our military families in the area.
Most definitely! We provide a family friendly space and encourage siblings to attend. This allows big brother or sister a chance to bond with baby before arrival.
Extensive studies over the past 30 years have shown that ultrasound does not cause any harm to mother or baby. It does not involve any radiation and 3D/4D/HD imaging uses the same intensity as the standard 2D imaging. We always encourage you to discuss any questions or concerns with your Obstetrician as this ultrasound is elective and does not take the place of your diagnostic exam.
Not all 3D/4D fetal imaging centers require a medical sonographer to perform your ultrasound. Our name may be cute, but rest assured a highly trained and qualified sonographer who specializes in OB/GYN will be performing your ultrasound.
At 14-19 weeks baby will look skinny, however we are still able to see the whole body. Baby is more active at this time and you can enjoy watching little one move all around. During 20-27 weeks baby will start to fill out. We recommend coming in around 25 weeks if you are having twins. 28-32 weeks will be the optimal time for 3D/4D/HD imaging as baby’s facial features will be more detailed. 33 weeks and up can also provide amazing images as long as baby is in a good position and there is plenty of fluid in front of the face.
Depending on your package, the session may last 10-45 minutes. However, we will require approximately 5 minutes for check-in and 10 minutes after the ultrasound for printing pictures, transferring images and videos, and optional purchases from the front lobby.
There can be several factors that may prevent us from getting the ideal pictures of baby. These include baby being face down/spine up, pressed up against the uterus or placenta, fluid levels, or maternal soft tissue. We will do everything we can to try and get the best pictures possible, however these situations can be out of our control. There will be no refunds, however a complimentary rescan may be offered at the sonographer’s discretion.
Depending on gestational age and fetal position, in most cases we can determine baby’s gender. If your baby does not cooperate the day of your appointment, we will offer another session free of charge.
Thicker tissue is more difficult to penetrate, and images may not turn out as clear. However, everyone transmits sound differently, and this is not always the case. Whether its gender or 3D/4D/HD images that you are seeking, we suggest that you pick the ideal gestational age to schedule your appointment. Do not hesitate to contact us if you need help deciding and remember to drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your scan.
Since our ultrasounds are elective and not for diagnostic purposes, insurance will not cover the costs. We have a variety of packages to help accommodate everyone’s budget. We accept cash, credit/debit card, Venmo, and PayPal.
When rescheduling an appointment, please give us at least 48 hours’ notice for gender reveal parties and 24 hours’ notice for all other appointments. If you miss your appointment or do not give adequate notice, you will be charged a $50 fee.
